Kel and Mike were raving about this. I've only had the opportunity to watch half of it, but I can see why they are so taken with it.
As Mike says, this is what the BBC do best.
Neatly avoiding making yet another costume drama and bringing it up to date has worked tremendously well.
Especially as they have avoided the re-imagining pitfalls.
Basically it just Sherlock Holmes and Watson in 2010.
With any luck I should be able to sit down with a cuppa and a chocky biscuit and finish watching it at some point today.
Anyone else manage to watch it?

Nope. It completely passed me by, and it's the sort of thing Mrs BB usually loves. She's been away since Sunday though so that will explain it. We'll catch up on the iPlayer before the next one is aired. I'll post my thoughts once I've had a look. :D

Euan was saying to my mother that I'm a bit of a Holmes nut and she didn't have a clue. Wouldn't inititally believe him when he told her that I have all the books and loads of DVDs etc.
Funny how parents think that they know everything about you and then even with something as random as this it throws them a bit when they realize they don't.
Wait until they find the bodies in the garden.

Well mentioning that was also a bit random. :D

I can't believe I haven't seen it all yet. I've been waiting patiently since it was first advertised and now here I am ages after it was screened and I still haven't managed to get the time to watch it all.
Might not even see it tonight either. I've still got the Strawberry Blondes and Undertones interviews to transcribe, the Wickerman and PiL shows to review.

Finally watched it all last night and I loved it. Can't wait till next week.
I'll probably watch the first episode again.

Well, me and Mrs BB watched these at the weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode, thought the second was less satisfying with the characters getting a little wearing though so I dunno if it would go the distance in a regular slot. I think these three may be enough for now.

An enjoyable romp at the end of the day though and, as stated earlier in the thread, not as heavy on the cheese as it could have been.

Watched it the other night and its another example of the BBC trying to get down with the kids innit? in a Doctor Who stylee.Pish in other words.I like Martin Freeman but his shtick is starting to wear a bit thin its the same in everything he is in.I cant wait till they do the proposed makeover of Love Thy Neighbour ,with Rupert Everett playing Eddie Booth and the bloke from the Halifax adverts playing Bill Reynolds. At this time of going to press rumours that the hermaphrodite athlete,Caster Semenya playing both the husband and wife parts are unconfirmed.Oh aye Martin Freeman is playing the milkman.........................
