Once again we have a fight on our hands in the 2nd leg of the play offs. Not a great game yesterday but think we at least deserved a draw. Hope we play more of the passing game at ER, hoofing it upfield just doesn't work. Great support from the 1000 leeds fans at the game, very vocal and didn't rise to the bait provided by the Millwall scum. Istanbul chants and Galascum flags being waved.

I'm thinking play offs again for us this coming season. Not at all confident of promotion out of div 3. They'd better prove me wrong or i'll wash my hands of the overpaid money grabbing bastards.

Suppose it had to happen at some point but please not bloody Spurs. Grayson clears way for Delph sale Published: Monday, 27 July 2009, Leeds boss Simon Grayson has admitted that he would find it difficult to begrudge youngster Fabian Delph a move to the Barclays Premier League. The impressive 19-year-old has attracted attention from a host of top-flight clubs with Aston Villa and Everton both reportedly having bids turned down. Now Tottenham have declared their interest in taking the England Under-21 international, who has an £8million price tag on his head, to White Hart Lane and Grayson knows it could be tough to keep hold of him. "We're not talking about him going to a League One team," Grayson told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "We're talking about top Premier League clubs coming in for him. "The hardest thing for us would be to accept a bid in the first place, but also to deny the player the chance to go to that level." http://www.itv.com/sport/football/news/ ... 26846.html

Leeds played Irish League champions Glentoran over here justover a week ago. I wasn't at the game but was able to watch their training session which took place where I work. Leeds are reortedly interested in signing Crusaders FC captain and centre back Colin Coates. Coatsy would be a huge loss for the Hatchetmen but a great acquirement for Leeds. Leeds representatives were over watching him in the Crues home tie in the Europa Cup. Unfortunately Coatsy was sent off in that game. Quote: Pre-Season Friendly Glentoran 1 - 3 Leeds United Saturday 18th July Match Report Report Forza TV Highlights Video Match Photographs - RussellPritchard.com Photo Match Statstics from the T Men Stats Glentoran continued their pre-season training today with this showcase match against Leeds United.
A large crowd of Glentoran and Leeds supporters were on hand to enjoy this great fast flowing game with supporters travelling from all over Ireland and the UK to be in attendance.
The match started brightly for both teams each having their share of the chances, but it was Leeds who scored first. It took 14 minutes for Leeds star Robert Snodgrass to latch on to a loose ball and fire home much to the delight of the travelling support.
Andy Waterworth proved a nuisance to the Leeds defence with his blistering pace catching them off guard on a number of occasions, but the Glens were unable to capitalise on this and secure a goal.
It was right on half time that Jermaine Beckford showed why he is held in such high regard when he beat the Glens offside trap to be left clear through on Elliot Morris' goal. Beckford took the ball past the Glens number one and tucked the ball into the net easily.
The Glens supporters enjoyed some great close shaves as Richard Clarke fired just wide of the post, Fitzgerald also came close, while McCabe's strike was saved by Leeds goalkeeper Higgs.
It was in the second half, and 10 substitutions later, that the Glens got off the mark to add some spark to the game. A great, well placed, pass in to Grant Gardiner allowed the young midfielder to control an place his shot into the Leeds top corner. Pulling a goal back the Glens applied more pressure to equalise but it was Leeds who would have the fial say.
Showumni caught Glens left-back Craig Harris off guard to slot the ball through sub goalkeeper James Taylor's legs for the win.
The game played out well in what was a great occasion for both sets of fans and a great performance from an entire 22 man Glentoran squad that just fell short of Leeds United's professional Coca-Cola League One standards.

Reading some of the Leeds forums Colin Coates is held in high regard among Leeds fans that were at the game but they don't seem to think we'll get him. It seems like we may make a bob or two from the sale of Delph so who knows. Sounds like he would be just what we're looking for.

Newcastle 0 Leeds 0. Not a bad game, we held on a bit in the 1st half but held our own in the 2nd. Plenty of singing going on between the two sets of fans, all good natured. Alan Judas Smith man of the match, think someone was taking the piss . Feeling slightly more confident now for the season ahead but don't think i can go through the play offs again. Up automatically or not at all. Marching on together.
