I've decided that I'm no longer going to do Noise Annoys.
There are a few different reasons, but tec problems last night really had me wondering what the point was.
I don't think there has been a single show where it has all ran smoothly.
The other thing is the time it takes to sort out stuff.
The others that do shows will appreciate this. We don't just jump in there and play a bunch of tunes.
I select what I want to play and then run them through a converter as some of them will be mp4s and of variable quality. It all takes time. Sometimes I will go back and forth for hours adding tracks, deleting tracks etc.
The last two shows I've done I've taken about half an hour to change the properties of all the songs so that they would stream on the page and let people know what is playing. Both weeks it hasn't given that info so it was a worthless task really.
Disheartening to say the least.
Then there is the two hours that we are on air.
I have my pc in our living room so the kids are banished until the show is over as they can't watch television, play games or whatever in the background as the mic will pic it all up.
Basically I don't get as much enjoyment out of doing it as I thought I would and it should be a labour of love and not a chore.
Thanks for all who have listened and for those who missed it.....don't worry about it. It was never that great anyway. ;)

Thats a shame and I certainly will miss the show. I can certainly understand the way you feel though, it does get a bit discouraging at times, particularly when you put a load of effort in for little visible result.

Sorry to hear that El D. I'm guilty of not listening regularly due to late night working but what I did hear was always good. Maybe you'll go back to it after a break?

I hope my decision to drop it doesn't kick off a run for the lifeboats from yourself Stevie, Riff and the occasional Verlorin as I enjoy the shows you all do.
I've just got loads of hassle here as well and that has also been a contributing factor.
As with most things revolving around music I think I'm best sitting it out on the bench watching what's going on rather than participating.

Not everyone can listen in. I appreciate that and never expected to draw a large number of people on a Tuesday night. It was more about playing music with mates. Like an extension of how we would go around to a friends house when we were younger with a pile of records.
That's the way I viewed it.
Only it's turned out that I'm the guy whose records always skipped. :D

I'll not be back though. It's honestly not a break I need.
I'm just not that good at it and feel rather self conscious when speaking on air as well.
Even if others are supportive saying it was alright I'd still find it difficult to continue. So it's best if I just set it aside.

Fair play to you you have long voiced privately to me that you didnt feel all that comfortablke with it and at times i felt guilty about getting you involved. But you will be missed and like you say its not for fame and fortune we do this its a bit of light relief.Thats all it is ever going to be,the doors always open and who knows maybe a once a month slot will be easier to maintain? either way its been our pleasure. No one should feel its a chore to do this in fact if it became so id knock it all on the head.Sad though and yes i've been lacking on the support front for everybodys shows recently but things seem to be returning to normal.I dunno maybe we all need to have a pow wow all of us involved in this and see if its got a lifespan or not?I still fancy that art station though you know the one that does custom made avatars for myspace? yeah that one with the autistic artistic artwork.Long live El Diablo
